The annual West Coast championship' Croquet tournament is being continued to-day, in showery weather. Yesterday, the B Division Silver’ Button competition was finalised, Miss Hambleton (Greymouth) proving the winner over Mrs Orsbourne (Reefton). Results of matches played yesterday afternoon wei e: —
Championship Singles: Mrs Whibley (Greymouth) beat Mrs Nottle (Westport) 26/8. Championship Doubles, First Life: Mesdames Gilbert and Nottle (Westport) beat Mesdames Mercer and Davies (Greymouth) 26/17; Mesdames Whibley and Hannan beat Mesdames Warnes and Robertsom (Greymouth) 26/16; Mesdames Tennent and McKay (Greymouth) heat Mesdames McCracken and Rose (Runanga) 26/10. Championship Doubles, Second Life: Mesdames Robertson and Warnes (Greymouth) beat Mesdames Mercer and Davies (Greymouth) 26/21. Silver Button, B Division, Final: Miss D. Hambleton (Greymouth) beat Mrs Osborne (Reefton) 26/23, 26/18. Handicap Singles: Mrs Gillespie (Westport) 4 bisques, beat Mrs Cairns (Reefton) 10 bisques 26/6. Matches decided in the croquet tournament this morning were: — Championship Singly —First Life: Mrs Mercer (Grey) beat Mrs Topliss I (Grey), 26/18; Mrs Gillespie (WestIport) beat Mrs Whibley (Grey), ' 26/22; Mrs Tennent (Grey) beat Mrs Robertson (Grey) 26/16. Second Life: Miss Hambleton (Grey) beat Mrs Tennent (Grey), 26/14; Mrs Mercer (Grey) heat Mrs McCracken (Runanga), 26/10.
Handicap Singles: Mrs Mercer (Grey) 5 bisques, beat Mrs Alborn (Reefton), 10 bisques, 26/15. Handicap Doubles: Mrs Allan Smith and Mrs Reynolds (Grey) 6 bisques, beat Mrs Kearns and Mrs Alborn (Reefton) 10 bisques, 26/13; Mrs Orsbourn and Mrs Wicken (Reefton) 6 bisques, beat Mrs McKay and Mrs Topliss (Grey), 5 bisques, 26/4. The putting competition, conducted yesterday, was won by Mrs Fogarty.
