MERCER WINS RINKS AGAIN.

HOKITIKA, February IS

At the bowling tourney, the concluding results in yesterday’s play were: —

Pairs: Semi-finals —Peek (G”eymouth) and Head (AVestport) play d an even game, victory resting with Head by a margin of 15 points to il.

Alercer and Scott, both oi Greymouth and members of the same rink, played off their game, victory resting with Scott by 22 points to 21.

The rinks final was commenced shortly before 4 o'clock, anil was one of the finest exhibitions of team work ever given on the local green. Alercer’s team played a wonderful game. The score went up by singles, and Stevenson did not score till tb.e seventh head, the score then being 8 to 1. All through, the Greymcmtb. team held a leading position, continuing to score in singles-’ till on the 17th bead a four gave an unassailable position of 19 points to 4. Then Hokitika scored a 2,5, and a 3 on the final head, the score being Alercei- 19, Stevenson 14.

The winners win the rinks championship and hold the Usher Cup for the year. The winners, who were also successful at last year’s tournairent, consist of Messrs AV G- Scott. F. G. Davies, D. Stevenson, and L. C. Alercer (s).

’[’lie final of the championship pairs was played this morning, Stevenson and Scott (skip) Greymouth, defeating Powell and Plead (skip) West port, by 2-1 to 23.

In the first round of the champion of champions, singles, Leach (Runanga.) 17, defeated \\ hiblev (Grey) 10.
