MAKURA CROQUET CLUB
COMPETITION RESULTS. A social and competition afternoon was held yesterday on the Makura Club’s lawn, when the various competitions were keenly enjoyed. The golf croquet was won by Mrs Whibley, the putting competition by Miss Hambleton, and the hoop-running by Miss Hambleton. The following are the scores in the aggregate hal.f-hou|r competition: — Mrs R. Smith 3, Mrs Whibley 3, Mrs Mercer 9, Mrs Owen 9, Mrs McKay 10. Mrs McCorkindale 10, Mrs Robertson 7, Mrs James 7, Mrs A. Smith 5, Mrs Muir 5, Mrs Crooks 5, Miss Hapibleton 5, Mrs Hannan 6, Mrs W. Phillips 6, Mrs Topliss 10, Mrs Thomas 10, Miss Sotheran 13, Mrs J. McLean 3, Mrs Reynolds 3.
Tho following are the results ot games played in the Dominion Council’s Silver Button competition: — A. Section, first round: Mrs Tennent beat Mrs Smith; Mrs Whibley beat Mrs Hannan. Second round: Mrs Tennent beat Mrs Mercer.; Mrs Whibley beat Mrs Davies. Final: Mrs Tennent beat Mrs Whibley. B. Section, first round: Miss Hambleton beat Mrs Coburn; Mrs Reynold's beat Mrs Topliss; Mrs Warnes beat Mrs Thomas. Second round: Miss Hambleton beat Miss Shoedy; Mrs Reynolds beat Mrs Warnes. Final: Miss Hambleton boat I Mrs Reynolds.
C. Section, first round: Mrs son beat Mrs Fogarty by default; Miss Pratt beat Mrs Murray by default. Second round: Mrs Robertson beat Mrs Hambleton by default; Mrs Haglund beat Miss Pratt. Final: Mrs Robertson beat Mrs Haglund. Mrs Tennent, Mrs Robertson, and Miss Hambleton will play against the other West Coast finalists, at the tournament commencing on February 20.
