BOXING

PETERSEN V. [BY CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] ' LONDON, January 27. In a fifteen rounds bout for the British heavyweight championship, Petersen, the holder, knocked out Pettifer in the twelfth round. PARKER v. CROFT. Advice has been received that both Lowe and Davis, the Dunedin middleweights, will be unable to enter the ring for some time. Lowe is nursing a. damaged shoulder and Davis is suffering from boils. Vince Parker, the Timaru middleweight, is, however, willing Io meet Tom Croft at either Timaru or Greymouth. Parker has secured a knock-out decision over George McEwan, who has also been beaten by Croft, so a Parker Croft bout should arouse a great deal of interest.
