REEFTON NOTES

[OUB OWN CORRESPONDENT.] REEFTON, January 14. Miss K. M. Brewin, who was for a pe’riod in charge of the school at the Landing, is in Reefton. Mr S. Robins, has left for Christchurch, where his marriage to Miss Carter, will take place on January IS. The marriage will be celebrated on January 16 of Miss O’Malley of Cronadun and Mr A. O. Stanley. The condition of Mrs Robt. Holland, of Wellington, is causing her- relatives concern.

The following will represent Reefton Cricket Club in their match against Reef ton Tennjis Club, to-morrow: Messrs S. Hunt, Lawson, Goddyer, Foreman, Collins, Scott, Slattery, Bonifacio, Kearns, Coxall, Blom, with B. Miller as 12th man. The Tennis Club team comprises Messrs J. Blackmore, H. Lee, E. Maindonald, O. Sharpe, J. Chapman, E. Eller ton, W. Parsonage, W. Jorgenson, W. Pennington, R, Magee, C. and A. McElwee. Mr J. Lawn left for Wellington, this morning. Messrs W. Wood and V. Mori met Messrs Blackadder, and Floyd in a match for the Buttons, on the Reefton Bowling Green on Thursday. Messrs Blackadder and Floyd retained the trophy by 7 points, games being 21 to 14. Mr A. Rutherford of Waiuta, who has been appointed manager of the New Murray Creek Gold Mines, Ltd., at Inglewood, has arrived in Reefton, and takes charge of the mine on Monday next.
