ARGENTINE AND AUSTRALIA. [BY CABLE —PBESS ASSN. —COPYBIGHT.] (Recd. January 13, 10 a.m.) LONDON, January 13. The “Daily Herald” gives prominence to the fact that one or two meat combines handling South American supplies, are out to invade the Australian meat industry on a large scale, in order to take full advantage of the trading facilities agreed at Ottawa between Britain and the Dominions. Th© “Daily Herald” couples the news with the Australian .proposals to develop the Northern Territory, as a source of supplies. Sir Edmund Vestey, interviewed, said it would take Australia a decade to produce enough cattle to replace South American supplies kept out m Britain by the Government’s policy. Before the end of the year, there would be sharp rises of meat, which the poorest consumers would fee 1 most.
