THEORY EXAMINATIONS
GREYMOUTH SUCCESSES. In the theory examinations conducted in Greymouth in November last, by the Associated Board of the Royal Colleges, London, all the Greymouth candidates passed well. The maximum marks obtainable were 99, and the number required for a pass 66. Results were as follow: Colleen G. Phillips (Convent) 87 TYI Mabel E. L. Rundle (Mrs E. R. Bruerton) 87 marks. Jean A. Duggan (Convent), 84 marks. Edna A. Rohloff (Convent) 84 marks. Dulcie M. Roberts (Mrs E. R. Bruerton) 83 marks. Esma P. Strongman (Mrs E. R. Bruerton) 82 marks. MISS ETHEL WALLACE. Miss Ethel Wallace, the Dunedin violiniste, has been recommended for a Fellowship of Trinity College of Music, London. Miss Wallace was a pupil of the Greymouth Convent of Mercy. During her residence here she was awarded several exhibitions by the Trinity College of Music (London), and the Associated Board of the Royal Academy and Royal College of Music (London), while she was also an undefeated competitor at festivals of the West Coast Competitions Society.
