MINISTER’S CONGRATULATIONS
(Q|N this, the occasion of the opening of the new hydro-electric power station on the Arnold River, I desire to extend my congratulations to the constituents of the Grey Electric Power Boatrd dis-' trict on the energy and enterprise shown in the development of the natural resources of their country. As the Government scheme of State supply of power has not yet been extended to this district, the Power Board, formed some ten years ago, initiated a power supply business based on a small steam-power plant at Dobson. The success of this prompted the larger scheme, which
has just been put into service, and
which I am convinced will lead to
a cheapening of the cost of electric supply, and therefore increase the prosperity and well-being of the district. It is very gratifying to find that the many difficulties encountered in the building of the scheme have been so successfully overcome, and I wish to congratulate all those connected with the scheme on the success that has crowned their efforts; and, now that it is in a position to give supply from the new station, I wish the Grey Electric Power Board the success itsenterprise and foresight deserves. C. E. MACMILLAN, Acting-Minister of Public Works.
