ARAHURA STOCK SALE. The total -entry of stock forward yesterday at Arahura comprised 19 lambs, 12 fat ewes, and 69 head cattle. There was a representative attendance of West Coast buyers, whose choice of purchase left little to be desired, owing to the general all round excellence of the yarding. Prices did not appreciate on last sale and best ox beef sold, round about 20/- per hundred for heavy pens to 22/6 for medium and lighter sorts. Prime heifer beef made to 23/- and cow beef, of which there was an excellent entry mad© to 18/-. The small entry of sheep sold well. W. Jeffries and Co. sold as follow: For E. and F. Gibb 2 Hfrs at £7/2/6, 6 do. at £6, 2 do. at £5/15/-, 1 cow at £5/17/6, 2 strs at £7/2/6, 3 do at £7, 1 do at £6/5/-, 2 do at £6/2/6, 2 runtiers at £5/7/6- For Perry Bros. 2 cows at £5/12/6, 14 blks passed at £7/15/-, and subsequently sold privately. For clients, cow and runner at £2/12/-, 2 empty cows at £2/10/-, 9 light steers at £4. At their Grey sale on August S, the same firm report the sale of 8 light steers from £4/10/- to £6, -2 heifers at £4/15/-, 1 cow at £4 10/-, 2 runners at £3/10/-.. For H. Bush 12 ewes at 14/-, 19 shorn, lamb.s at 8/6.
