GREY LADIES’ CHAMPIONSHIP.

The 1932 senior championship final (Greymouth Ladies) was played on Saturday in perfect weather, the links being in excellent order. After a closely-contested game, which was not decided until the 19th green, Miss N. Tennent proved the winner, defeating Mrs W. B. Cunningham, 1 up. Following is a description of the game. - Gap.—-Both good length drives, Miss Tennent topping her second however, finished on the green. M rs Cunningham’s second ran through the green to the -right. Two putts gave Miss Tennent a win in 4 to 5, Mrs Cunningham missing a yard putt for a half. Miss Tennent, 1' up. River. —Miss Tennent’s drive was well to the right of green, Mrs -Cunningham playing a beautiful shot on the green to win with an easy 3 to Miss Tennent’s 5. All square. Corner. —Both good drives, Mrs Cunningham running through the green with nice second. Miss Tennent topped her second and took 4 to reach the green. Mrs Cunningham’s approach was rather weak and she missed her putt, while Miss Tennent holed a long putt for a half in 5. All square. Firs.—Beautiful drives and both seconds on green, the advantage being with Mrs Cunningham, who won the hole, 3 to 4. Mrs. Cunningham, 1 up. . , Ribbcfnwood. — Mrs Cunningham drove a very long ball, Miss Tennent topping hers and also her second, but her 3rd was on edge of green. Mrs Cunningham’s 2nd was short and her 3rd hit the flag. An easy putt gave her a win in 4to 5. Mrs Cunningham, 2 up. Rochfort’s. —Both good drives, Mrs Cunningham’s second being a beautiful length, but pulled throungh the fence. She over-approached with her third. Miss Tennent’s second was short and 3rd on edge of green. After very bad putting by both players the hole was halved in 7. Mrs Cunningham i 2 up " . Tipperary. —Again good drives, also good seconds and thirds. Both were on the edge of the green in 4 and the hole was halved in 6. Mrs Cunningham, 2 up. Hawthorns. —Both players sent good drives away, clearing hedge. Mrs Cunningham’s approach was short, Miss Tennent finding the green. Miss Tennent had a nice putt for 4, Mrs Cunningham leaving herself a long one for a half, which she failed to hole. Miss Tennent won, 4 to 5. Mrs Cunningham, 1 up. Camerons.—Miss Tennent got a beautiful drive, Mrs Cunningham’s being fair. Miss Tennent played a long second to right of green, but her third was tod strong. Mrs Cunningham was on the green for 3, and the hole was halved in 5. Mrs Cunningham was thus 1 up at the turn. She was 44 to her opponent’s 48. Burn. —Both well away with drives and good seconds and thirds on green. Mrs Cunningham’s approach putt was very close to hole. Miss Tennent holed a good length putt foj’ a half in 5. Mrs Cunningham 1 up . Crossing.—Miss Tennent played a beautiful shot three yards -from the pin. Mrs Cunningham was , through , the green, and her second ran past the ' hole. Miss Tennent lipped the hole ' for 2, and Mrs Cunningham sank a ‘ tricky putt for a half in three. Mrs Cunningham 1 up. Outlook.—Miss Tennent drove a long ’ ball; Mrs Cunningham skied hers, but got a good second. Miss Tennent’s second was almost to the hedge and j her third was on the green. Mrs Cun- . ningham topped hei- third, which was in a bad lie and was 4 on the green Miss Tennent had an easy putt for a I win in 5, but missed it and they halved lin 6. Mrs Cunningham 1 up. Terrace. —Good drives, Miss Tennent having a slight advantage. Mrs Cunningham hit the bank with second shot and was through the green for 3. Miss Tennent topped her second, but was lucky enough to run through the bunker and on to green. Her*.third was up the bank. Mrs Cunningham put her fourth on green and sank putt for half in 5. Mrs Cunningham 1 up. Bend.—Miss Tennent drove (almost on to green, Mrs Cunningham being to left; she played a good approach, but Miss Tennent duffed her second. The hole was halved in 4. Mrs Cunningham 1 up. Omoto. —Again both players drove well. Miss Tennent played short with her second, but duffed her third to finish just outside the bunker pegs. Mrs Cunningham’s third was lucky, j bouncing out of the bunker. Her fourth was to left of green. Miss Tennent was on the edge of green for 4, and indifferent putting by both players gave her a win in 7. All square. Kent. —Two good shots from 16th tee and good wooden seconds, both players being just outside the green. One approach and two putts each saw hole halved in 5. All. square.

Walton.—Miss Tennent’s long drive was to the right, Mrs Cunningham clearing the bunker, but in a bad lie. An indifferent second and a good third placed Mrs Cunningham outside the green. Miss Tennent got a good shot from a hanging lie, but was short with her third. A beautiful approach finished 12 inche? from the pin. Mrs Cunningham’s approach was not up, and Miss Tennent won, 5 to 6. Miss Tennent 1 up. Home. —Again good drives. Mrs Cunningham approached well to hit green ■wires. Miss Tennent duffed her approach and was through green with third. Mrs Cunningham got a 4 to 5 and again squared the match. Gap.—Two long drives cleared the gap, Mrs Cunningham having the advantage, but put her second short of the green. Miss Tennent played her second to the far edge of the green. Mrs Cunningham over-ran with her third, and missed her putt for 4. Miss Tennent’s approach putt was dead, and she won the hole in 4, to win the championship, 1 up at the 19th. Miss Tennent previously won the championship in 1929.

N.S.W. WOMEN’S FOURSOMES SYDNEY, Juy 26. Miss Lefelivre and Miss Yuille with the total of 170 won the foursomes championship of New South Wales from two sisters. Miss Wray and Mrs. Slack 175, Mesdames Read and Penne--I’ath 177, were third.
