LONDON June 27. Replying to Parliamentary questions regarding raids from Abyssinia into Sudanese territory, and discussions by British and Abyssinian representatives thereon at Gambeila, the Foreign Secretary (Sir J. Simon) said the Gambeila meeting had produced a satisfactory result. Most categorical orders for a return of captives had been previously issued by the Abyssinian Government. Four women and children and eighty-two cattle had been restored by some Sudanese Anuaks, who had joined in the raid. BRITAIN’S FOOD IMPORTS ~ LONDON, June 28. In the Commons under the ten minute rule, Mr. Ruggles-Brise introduced a- bill providing that all imported foodstuffs should be marked whether Empire or foreign, with the name of the country. He said ‘that Britain for a long time had taken food on trust. It was time we knew what we were buying and whence it came. The bill was read a first time.
