WESTLAND DECISIONS. . / ■ [our own correspondent.] HOKITIKA, June 9. ’ At the annual meeting of, the Westland Licensing Meeting, held yesterday, there were present: Messrs. W. Meldrum, S.M. (chairman), J. Goodall, T. R. Chesterman, J. Kyle, J r B. Kent,, and F. McGregor. The Chairman said that during the coming yeai- provision would have to be made for suitable fire-escapes, and | all hotelkeepers would be expected to have conformed to this, request before the next annual meeting of the Committee. No definite standard of fireescape would be specified by the Committee, so long as an adeqaute escape was provided. The Health Department Officer made 9ertain recommendations for improvements, and one application was adjourned for three months to enable the applicant to have the necessary improvements made. The police did not oppose any of the applications. Applications were granted as follow:—■
