OTTAWA CONFERENCE

N.Z. MANUFACTURERS’ REQUEST,

[PEB PBESS ASSOCIATION.]

WELLINGTON, April 12

A request that the Minister of Industries and Commerce should be included in the New Zealand delegation to the Empire Conference at Ottawa was made to Mi" Forbes, by a deputation from the New Zealand Manufacturers’ Federation, this evening. The speakers contended that as other interests had made demands for specific appointments to the delegation, they were justified in seeking a similar concession.

Mr Forbes, replying, said that he was seized with the necessity for extending the markets for New Zealand products, and he would give the representations due consideration.
