SOCCER FOOTBALL
W.F.A. MEETING. The weekly meeting of the W.F.A. was held last evening. Present: Mr J. Sharp (Chairman), Messrs W. Sharp, W. Robertson, E. Flood, F. M. Smyth, and E. Airey (Secretary). With reference to a letter received from Dobson F.C., it was decided that the Secretary should write to the Rewanui F.C. and ask for the challenge fee of. 10/6 for the Blackmun Cup to be paid. It was decided that the cheque for 10/6 should be forwarded to the Dobson Club.
Referees’ reports were received as satisfactory from D. Barnes and J. Hardie. & Messrs E. Airey and W. Robertson were elected a Postponement Committee and the onus is on the Clubs to ascertain by 11.15 a.m. whether games will be played or not. It was agreed that a donation of £lO/10/- from a generous donor should be accepted, and that the Centre should decide for what purposes the money should be expended in the way of trophies. Word has been received that both Buller and Canterbury are putting in early challenges for the Peter Dawson Cup.
The Secretary gave a report of what had transpired at the annual general meeting held in Wellington. He was thanked for his very able report of the meeting, and it was decided that it should be recorded in the minutes. FIXTURES FOR SATURDAY. Westland Cup: Grey v. Dobson at Victoria Park at 3 p.m. (Referee Mr S. Hewison); Runanga v. Cobden, at Dunollie at 3 p.m., (Referee Mr D. Barnes). Junior: Dobson v. Greymouth at Dobson at 3 p.m., (Referee, Mr A. Cowan; Technical v. Runanga at Victoria Park, at 1.30 (Referee Mr T. Clark). Third Grade: Technical v. Marist at Victoria Park, at 12.15 (Referee Mr G. Graham).-
