■ “sut SHOOTING AT CONSTABLE[by cable— pbess assn.—copybight.] MELBOURNE, April 11At the Criminal Court, Mr Justice Macfarlane sentenced three men, James Adams, aged 30; Harold Williams, aged 27; and Hugh Martin, aged 29, to twenty years’ imprisonment each, and also ordered each of them a flogging of fifteen lashes, for robbery in company and shooting with intent to do grievous bodily harm to Constable Derham.
The prisoners were associated in a sensational robbery and shooting affray at Coles City Stores in Melbourne Constable Derham was seriously injured.
