WOMAN’S £16,800 WINNINGS
BOLD PLAY AT CASINO.

A wealthy American woman, Mrs. Sarah Jenning- Burns, who owns oil lands near Kansas City, has just left Nico, for London, taking with her £16;800 which she has Won at the gaming tables of- the casino. It is- believed that her winnings during the past week or so have established a record for the Rivieija;
She made high bets, winning occasionally, and when she lost paying: from a thick wad of- bank notes. Seeming to pay little attention to losses, however, she kept on playing steadily. Suddenly she coolly announced a bet of 1,000,000 francs £BOOO at par), andwon.
Adding the' money to her already thick wad of notes, she stopped playing, and shortly afterwards left for London. She appeared to be not at all excited about her big wins, but simply said “Goodbye” as she stuffed; the notes into her handbag.
