PERSONAL NOTES
Mr. and Mrs. C. O’Donnell returned on Saturday, from a trip to Sydney.
Mr and Mrs A. V. Oliver returned from Canterbury on Saturday.
Mr. and Mrs. T. Tarrant returned from Christchurch, on Saturday.
Miss M. Iles will leave, to-morrow, en route for England.
Mr. J. O’Brien, M.P., arrived from Wellington on Saturday, and left on return to-day.
Miss Margaret Jamieson will leave by to-morrow’s express for Wellington.
Miss J. Harker will leave Greymouth, by to-morrow’s express, for a trip to the Old Country.
Mr and Mrs Hamer, of Kqmara, and Mrs H. Fletcher, of Greymouth, are among those who intend to leave at an early date, for the Old Country.
Mrs G. Shroder will leave, to morrow, on her return to Wellington, and will be accompanied by Mrs E. Schaef.
Mrs A. McAdam, Christchurch, and Mr and Mrs A. Allen, Middlemarsh, are the guests of Sergeant and Mrs D. B. Murray.
The death has occurred in hospital at Palmerston North of the Rev. J. Ernest Parsons, a minister of the Methodist Church. He had been seriously ill for some time.
Mr W. Panckhurst, formerly of Greymouth, and now of Auckland, is visiting Greymouth, after an absence of 20 years, as the guest of his sister, Mrs E. Hopkins, Kilgour Road.
Passengers to Greymouth on the express on Saturday included Miss M. Pascoe, Mr and Mrs J. Earthorne, Miss M. Ruane, from Christchurch, and Constable J. Kitchingham, from Invercargill.
The death occurred at his residence, Hampden Street, Hokitika, last evening, of Mr. Oswald Borton, at the age of 63 years. Deceased was for several years a clerk in the employ of Mark Sprot and Co. He is survived by a widow and one daughter.

Mr Joseph Barugh, one of the founders of the Auckland Farmers’ Freezing Company, and the Farmers’ Co-op. Auctioneering Company, both of which he was chairman for a number of years, and one of the originators of the Farmers’ Union, died at Hamilton yesterday.—Press Assn.
News was received, this morning, of the death at Auckland of Mr. Robert' Muir King, formerly of Hokitika. For many years he was churchwarden at All Saints’ Church where he did much work in keeping the grounds in order. He was aged 68, and a native of Dunedin. Besides a widow and two daughters and four sons, he leaves a brother (Mr. James King, Hokitika), and a sister, in Wellington.
