Schmeling arrived from Germany to-day, to begin an exhibition tour preparatory to his Jlefence of the title against Sharkey in New York on June 16. Weighing only 194 pounds, two above his usual fighting weight, he appeared ready to step into the ring to-morrow.
WASHINGTON, April 8.
The winter wheat crop of 458,000,000 bushels forty-two per cent, below bumper 787,000,000 bushels in 1931, is the forecast to-day by the Agricultural Department, on the basis of April 1 conditions.
