ENTERTAINMENTS
OPERA HOUSE TO-NIGHT-“The Middle Watch,” a highly amusing British comedy, was presented at the Opera House last night, and without exaggeration, this is the best comedy of its kind yet seen in Greymouth. Bright, piquant and refreshing musical comedy—the rich, clean humour flows steadily, and there is never a dull moment. “The Middle Watch” will again be screened tonight, Saturday, matinee and evening. SCHAEF’S DANCE The popular old time dance will be held in Schaef’s Hall to-morrow (Saturday) night for which the usual complete arrangements have been made. The floor and general appointments leave nothing to be desired while the music will be in the hands of the Gaiety Orchestra. Buses for Runanga and Taylorville will leave after the dance.
REX SAYERS’ ORIGINALS The Rex Sayers Originals Vaudeville Company composed of artists from the famed J. C. Williamson and Fuller Hayward circuit, opened their West Coast tour at Hokitika, last evening to a capacity house. This is a real live show which has been unanimously voted by the public as the brightest vaudeville entertainment for years, with a glittering galaxy of charming girls ' attired in pretty frocks. Frank Moran, the famous “Diggers” comedian, heads the cast of talented artists. The company also includes Rex Sayers, the Personality Singer; “Tcheka” Russian dancer; Tom Richards, eminent baritone; Lee Swanson, soubrette and dancer; little Mercia, child entertainer; Johnnie Gerald, comedian and acrobat; Molly O’Day,' ballad singer and the Originals ballet; The Greymouth season commences at the Town Hall on Monday. The box plan is at the Bristol.
PETER PAN CABARET. Arrangements have been made to ensure patrons of an enjoyable evening at Schaefs Hall to-night. A few alcoves are available, but there is complete seating accommodation for all. LONG NIGHT JAZZ. The learners’ long night jazz at Herb. Moore’s to-night promises to be a huge success. Steel’s full orchestra will supply the music and a good supper is promised which will be served upstairs at no extra charge. A lucky onestep, for which a valuable prize is offered, will be the main feature of • the evening. Don’t have any regrets —be there!
