KING’S CUP ENTRIES

The Prince of Wales and Prince George have entered machines for the King’s Cup air race of 1250 miles round Britain, on July 8. The Prince of Wales’s pilot will be Flight-Lieut. E. Fielden, and Prince George’s pilot will be Flight-Lieut. J. Armour. There are nearly fifty entries, including Lady Bailey and Miss Delia Crossley, the only woman to finish last year. U.S.A. CRACK INJURED.

NEW YORK, April 7-

A mesage from Worcester (Massachusetts) states that Captain Frank Hawks, the noted speed flyer, was critically injured to-day, when his ’plane crashed as he attempted to take off from Worcester air port. He probably fractured his skull, and has serious face injuries. LATER— Examination revealed that Captain Hawks was seriously but not critically injured. His face was seriously contused and lacerated with jaw fractures, but there is no skull fracture. He may have facial paralysis as the result of the jaw fractures, so the surgeons said.
