ADDINGTON MARKETWEST COAST SALESAt the Metropolitan market held on Wednesday at Addington, the general quality of the offering in the fat lamb section -was good, lines being included from the West Coast and Marlborough. At the outset the sale was keen, With values a little above those ruling last week, but as the sale progressed, it became apparent that the supply would be plentiful, butchers became more restrained and values flagged a little. There was keen competition, at one stage, for the lighter lambs, freezers and graziers competing at increased values. Sales on behalf of West Coast clients included Te Kinga Land Co., 157 at 14/1 to 17/7, Bates and Steel, Koiterangi, 151 at 11/10 to 16/7, A. Feary, Ahaura, 76 at 11/10 to 15/4. In the fast sheep entry, good ewes from the West Coast were offering. West Coast sales included, Coast client, 29 wethers at 9/10 to 13/1, Coast client, 31 ewes at 7/10 to 9/1. In the fat cattle section, West Coast sales were: H. M. Topliss, Inchbonnie, 7 cows at £5/12/6 to £6 12/6, TeKinga Land and Timber Co., 9 steers at £9/7/6 to £ll/12/6, P. Ryder, Inchbonnie, 3 heifers at £3 17/6 to £5/7/6, 3 cows at £4/17/6 to £6/17/6, J. Saddler, West Coast, 8 cows at £4/2/6 to. £7/7/6, TeKinga Land Co., 7 steers at £B/17/6 to £lO 7/6, 7 heifers at £4/17/6 to £6/17/6. GREY STOCK SALE. The next sale 'of fat stock at the Greymouth yards will take place on Monday, When the usual entry of fat cattle and sheep will be offered. TOTARA~FLAT SALE. McMahon and Lee will hold their next sale at Totara Flat on Wednesdays, when several good lines of store cattle, heifers and sheep will be sold. Further entries for this sale are invited.
