WAR MEMORIAL

HOUSE OF LORDS CEREMONY. [by CABLE—PRESS ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] LONDON, March 10. The Prince of Wales unveiled, in the Royal Gallery of the House of Lords, a memorial to members and their ‘sons, who have fallen. The war memorial consists of two bronze figures on marble, typifying youth offering its sword to the country. Oak panels bear 243 names.

The Archbishop of Canterbury, and the Bishops of Exeter and Sheffield attended the Chapel Royal. The choir, attired in scarlet and gold, sang, and the Prince recited the services for those who obeyed the call. He said: “On every battlefie’d they sleep as they fell, with their faces to the East, looking towards the morning.” Trumpeters of the Horse Guards sounded the “Last Post.”
