AUSTRALIAN LOANS
TRUSTEES DEMAND PROTECTION.
[BY CABLE—PBESB ASSN. —COPYBIGHT.] LONDON, tylarch 10. In the House of Commons, Mr Haslam asked whether it were proposed to add any Australian loans to the Treasury trustee-list, under the 1900 Act, without a revision of the terms and safeguards, to protect the trustees against a recurrence of the recent delay in New South Wales interest payments. Mr Warrender replied that he was unaware of any new Australian loan prospect, and the question had therefore not arisen. The reply regarding safeguards does not satisfy the questioners, and further questions will be tabled, asking for the removal of new South Wales stocks from the trustee list, or the publication of a notification of default, as a warning against further evasion. • z
