AUSTRALIAN TOURISTS [FEB FBESS ASSOCIATION.] MASTERTON, February 16. No finer tennis has ever been seen in the Wairarapa than in the exhibition matches in which the visiting Australian lady players met ex-New Zealand lady champions and leading Wairarapa lady players to-day. Though the New Zealand players were in the main outclassed, some really spirited contests were witnessed, particularly in the doubles. In one of these last, a New Zealand pair prevailed, Mrs. H. M. Dykes and Miss D. Nicholls decisively defeating Mrs. M. Molesworth and Miss N. Hall. Results: — Singles: Miss Hartigan beat Mrs. McMaster 6/4, 6/2; Miss Hall beat Miss Fleming 6/1, 6/1; Miss Valkenberg beat Miss Welch 6/1, 6/3; Mrs. Moleswiorth beat Miss Graham 6/1, 6/0. Doubles: Mrs. Molesworth and Miss Hall beat Mesdames Melody and Sturman 6/1, 6/4; Miss Hartigan and Valkenberg beat Mrs. Dykes and Miss D. Nicholls 6/4, 6/4; Mrs. Dykes and Miss Nicholls beat Mrs. Molesworth and Miss Hall 6/0, 7/5; Misses Hartigan and Valkenberg beat Mesdames Melody and Sturman 6/2, 6/4. A brilliant exhibition of the game was given in a final set played by the Australian ladies. GREYMOUTH V. HOKITIKA. The following teams will represent the Greymouth Club against Hokitika next Saturday. The A team will play at Hokitika and the B team at Greymouth.
