FOXHILL SHOOTINGS.
LONDON, February 16.
Evidence that a quarrel preceded the shooting of the candidate Reynolds and the detective McGeeham was given when the man Leddy was charged with the murder of the two former at the Ballinamore Barracks. Francis McNamee, a relative of the accused, in his evidence, said that Reynolds accused Leddy of canvassing against him, which charge Leddy denied, after which blows were struck, and there were mutual threats to kill made. Reynolds exclaimed that he took a wrong oath in order to get Leddy his pension, and that he would “break” him. Thereupon Leddy got a gun and two shots were fired. Leddy was remanded.
