RAIN IN HAWKE’S BAY
WELCOMED BY FARMERS [PER press association.] NAPIER, February 13. Hawke’s Bay is enjoying a protracted spell of soaking rain, of a character which has brought much ‘needed | benefit to the pastures, while not causing a great deal of trouble sc far as dislocation of services are concerned. Intermittent showers, occasionally heavy, with a steady drizzle between I the falls has been experienced since [Tuesday night. Napier has had three [inches but in 'other parts of the province, where it is most needed on ac- ! count of the dry pastures, the rain record has reached eight and ten inches. The levels of the rivers rose but dropped again before any flood damage was recorded. The Napier-Wairoa road was blocked for one day but is now open again. The other main routes are not affected.
