HECKLING A MINISTER ' [BY CABLE—PBE£S ABSN. —COPYBIGHT.] WASHINGTON, November 15. In order to avoid threatened antiFascist demonstrations upon the disembarkation of Signor Grandi at New York to-morrow, arrangements have been completed for Colonel Lindberg to pilot a large flying boat taking the Italian Minister and his party to Washington for their conference with President Hoover and Mr. Stimson. A Coastguard cutter will meet the steamer and carry the visitors to an undisclosed airport, from which they will fly to the capital. Extraordinary precautions are being taken to protect Signor Grandi during his American stay. There was an anti-Fascist meeting at New York to-night. The meeting appropriated five hundred dollars “for following and heckling Signor Grandi,” whenever he appears in, public.

ARRIVAL AT WASHINGTON. (Received November 17, 2 p.m.) WASHINGTON, November 16. Signor Grandi arrived to-night to speak for Italy in conferences with Mr Hoover. He came by train from New Jersey, w’here he transferred from the liner Contegrande, following the arrival in New York harbour. Unfavourable weather caused the cancellation of the proposed flight to Washington, with Colonel Lindbergh piloting.
