GREY CALEDONIAN SOCIETY
INGLESIDE & ANNUAL MEETING. Last evening, the final Ingleside of the 1931 season was held in the Oddfellows’ Hall. There was a large attendance of members, the programme being enjoyed by all, dancing was indulged in until an early hour. The programme was opened by a pipe solo by Piper E. J. C. Hay, “Pibrock of Douai’ Dhu.” Miss M. McKay recited “Song of the Market Place,” and as an encore “At Sunset”; Mr Eric McQueen gave a baritone solo, “The Bandolero,” and as an encore "Sincerity”; Miss A. Tennent rendered a fine solo “Eriskay Love Lilt” and on being encored sang “The Island Herdmaid.” Mr A. H. Patterson gave a comic sketch on the chief and chieftains of the Society. Piper E. J. C. Hay provided the dance extras. The singing of Auld Lang Syne and the national Anthem brought the evening to a close. The annual meeting of the society was also held last evening, Chief 0. McLean presided. The committee report showed that the society was in a sound financial position, and the year had been most successful. The following officers were elected for 1932: Chief—o. McLean (unopposed); Chieftains (all re-elected)—J. P. Forbes, E. J. C. Hay, C. Millar, W. Cochrane, T. Tarrant, H. Ogilvie, N. B. McCallum. Committee —A. H. Patterson, R. T. Bush, L. Anderson, J. S. Ross. W. Waugh. Secretary—J. G. Hambleton: Treasurer—D. Tennent; official piper—E. J. C. Hay. Chief 0. McLean on behalf of himself, the Chieftains, and committee, thanked the members for re-electing them for another season.
