Doctors in 1924 sent him to Bournemouth to die. He was believed to be suffering from bronchitis and asthma. He then had a fortune of £21,000., but certain of. the nearness of death, he sold his securities piecemeal. Now thoroughly restored to health, he does not relish the frugalities which are necessarv, particularly after his standard of living before he discovered the doctor’s blunder. “At one time,” | he say, “I did not think that any more diseases could be packed into my poor old body, but now I feel like living to 100.”
