CANCER FUND ART UNION
HELF FOR A HEALTH CRUSADE
At the beginning of this month was launched a nation-wide effort to provide an Adequate financial foundation for the work of the New Zealand branch of the British Empire Cancer Campaign Society. This takes the form of an art union, on lines with which the public are already familiar. The past success of this method of raising funds, and the wide sympathy which the crusade creates wherever its purpose is understood, lead the promoters to hope that they will be provided with a sufficient endowment to make further appeals to the public unnecessaryThe tnoney raised in New Zealand will be used in New Zealand for the benefit of New Zealand cauccrsuffcrcrs and of the public, generally. Besides .making the most advanced treatment available to all who need it, cases will be tabulated and results recorded, and a follow-up system instituted so as to secure a complete history of each case. Scientific research into the cause and cure of •cancer will be maintained, and addition! radium purchased as necessary. The New Zealand campaign, however. will die co-ordinated with the crusade in other parts of the Empire. London is the “G.H.Q.”’ of the campaign. and New Zealand’s effort is a section of a movement that girdles the globe.
