The start of the cricket between New Zealand and Warwickshire was delayed for forty minutes owing to thick fog. The outfield was agaiq wet, and the bowlers were handicapped by a greasy ball. Merritt dismissed Smart in his second bowling spell in the morning. The batsman was caught by Vivian at long off. . After lunch, Vivian quickly disposed of the tail. Parsons fought hard to reach two hundred, but was run out attempting a risky second run, in order to keep the bowling. Despite chances, his Tvas a fine innings, dominated by forceful driving. . It lasted 320 minutes, and he, hit 13 fours. Tho New' Zealand batsmen made the most disappointing showing of the tour. The weather cleared and the light improved.
