AERIAL ACCIDENTS
60S KILLED IN U.S.
WASHINGTON, May 16.
During last year 608 persons, including pilots, passengers, crews, and others, were killed in civil flying in the United States. Of these, 32 persons, including 8 pilots and 24 passengers, perished in accidents on regular lines, the others being killed in “miscellaneous” operations.
Civil aircraft carried 2,715,846 passengers during 1930, the Assistant Secretary of Commerce states. Aircraft flew 56,502,560 miles in this type of operation, of which 47,954,960 miles were credited to licensed aircraft, and the remainder to unlicensed planes.— Reuter.
