ENTERTAINMENTS

OPERA HOUSE—TO-NIGHT. John McCormack, acclaimed the world's greatest tenor, stars in “Song O’ My Heart” the Fox movietone production to be screened at the Opera House to-night, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and also matinees Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. He has more imitators perhaps than any singer in history. This distinction would probably be shared by Patti and Caruso. In the last eight or ten years hundreds of tenors have been heard, who, in. the estimation of their managers or friends, were “greater than McCormack,” but they gradually but surely slipped from public notice. Music lovers the world over will be delighted to know that in McCormack’s first picture his voice will be heard in eleven songs. ■ “HAPPY-GO-LUCKY O’FLYNN.” To-night at Ahaura will be pre- > sented the greatest comedy hit of modern times—to wit, Barry Connor’s masterly “Happy-Go-Lucky O’Flynn.” Packed houses in both Islands, including Greymouth and Westport, rejoiced the whole evening over the comicalities of this three-act production now touring New Zealand from Africa, India, and the Far East. A distinguished cast of international fame is headed by the noted English comedian and comedienne. Ronald Riley and Doreen Scott. Also in the cast are Misses Marie D’Alton, Lilian Keers, Miriam Osbourne, and Messrs Joseph Lamphier, Moncrieff McCallum, Bernard Beeby, Stanley Brogden and Terence Keely. A notable feature will be the singing of Miss Sarah Stacpoole, the noted Auckland soprano, well knqown over IYA. Wallsed will be visited to-morrow night. GREYMOUTH FRIVOLITIES. The Greymouth Frivolity entertainers will present a wealth of novelties programme at the Town Hall, Tuesday, May 12. The funds will be devoted to the Holy Trinity Church funds.
