REEFTON NOTES
[OUP. OWN CORRESPONDENT.] REEFTON, April 23. Rev. T. W. Parsons entered Reefton Hospital last evening for treatment. His health has been unsatisfactory for some time. Mr H. Spencer, of the Post and Telegraph staff, has returned from Timaru. Mr and Mrs T. Kearns, of Golden Point, who have been on holiday in Wellington, returned home on Tuesday. The funeral of the late Horace Talbot took place yesterday afternoon, the cortege leaving his late residence, Shiels Street, for St. Stephen’s Church. There was a. large gathering of mourners, and the number of beautiful wreaths and floral tributes bore testimony to the respect in which deceased was held in the community. Mr H. Walsleben, lay-reader, in the absence of Rev. W. Bell, who is in hospital, rendered the service at the church and graveside. Services to commemorate Anzac Day will be held on Saturday, and will conclude at the Soldiers’ Memorial. < Mr Harry Cook, of Soldiers’ Road, who has been residing in Wellington for the past three years, has returned to Reefton. Mr W. Quinn has entered the Buller Hospital at Westport for treatment.
