ADDINGTON MARKET. HEAVY ENTRIES; LOWER PRICES [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] CHRISTCHURCH, April 22. Heavy entries were the rule in the major sections of the market at Addington to-day. Features of the market were a slight easing of fat lamb values, an easing of 1/- to 1/6 per head on fat ewes an easing in secondary beef values of £1 per head, and a further advance of 1/- per head for store lambs.

Store sheejj; —The market was firm at late rates for good ewes and wethers, but unattractive sorts were hard to quit, except at lower values. Extra good two-tooth halfbred ewes 18/- to 20/-; ordinary, 10/6 to 11/9; ordinary four and six-tooth halfbred ewes 10/- to 11/6, backward 5/6 to 8/6; ordinary six and eight-tooth, 7/6 to 8/6, sound-mouthed 4/- to 6/-; medium two-tooth Romney cross ewes 13/to 15/6, ordinary'lo/- to 13/6; good six and eight-tooth 10/- to 11/3, good sound-mouthed crossbred ewes 8/- to 9/-; good two-tooth Corriedale ewes to 17/3; medium two-tooth three-quarter bred ewes to 14/10, ordinary to 10/-, aged and failing ewes to 3/6; good four and six-tooth hqlfbred wethers 10/6 to 12/6; ordinary two, four and six-toqth halfbred wethers 6/- to 8/6; good two, four and six-tooth Romney cross wethers to 12/-. Store lambs:—A select entry and a very keen sale. Rape lambs 10/- to 12/3, plain Jambs 6/6 to 9/-, backward 5/- to 6/-; good ewe lambs 11/- to 13/1, medium to 9/6; medium wether lambs 8/- to 9/-, ordinary 6/- to 7/-. Fat lambs:—An entry of 5,500, the quality being mixed. For best lambs, late rates were maintained, but under pressure of the heavy entry, lighter sorts were a shade easier. Extra prime lambs to 19/7, prime 15/9 to 17/-, medium 14/6 to 15/6, light 12/to 14/-; store lambs 10/- to 11/9. Fat sheep:—An entry of 7000 head. Ewes sold from 1/- to 1/6 below last week’s values and wethers sold at no quotable alteration on late rates. Extra heavy wethers to 18/10, prime 14/6 to 16/6, medium 12/6 to 14/-, secopd quality 10/- to 12/3, light 7/6 to 9/6; extra prime ewes to 16/7, prime 11/6 to 13/-, medium 9/- to 11/-, light 7/- to 8/6, aged 4/6 to 6/6. Fat cattle: —An entry of 365 head, a big decrease with quality below the average. Choice beef sold to a keen demand, but other sorts recorded a decline. Choice beef brought 31/- to 35/- perlOOlb., and in the case of one line of show bullocks, up to 44/-. Good medium weight beef 26/- to 30/-, plain heavy beef 21/- to 25/-, cow beef from 19/- to 23/-, secondary beef from 14/to 18/-, and rough down to 10/-. Show steers to £2O 2/6, extra prime heavy steers to £l6 12/6, prime heavy £ll 10/to £l4 10/-, prime medium weight £8 to £ll, medium Quality £5 to £7 10/-, light to £4 10/-. Extra prime heifers to £l3 7/6, prime ,£7 to £9 10/-, medium £4 10/- to £6 10/- light .to £4. Extra prime cows to £l2 7/6, prime £6 10/- to £9, medium £3 10/- to £6, light and aged to £3.
