SYDNEY, April 9. At the yearling sales, Heroic colts were bought/ by D. J, Price for, 400 guineas, and C. B. Kellpw for 600 guineas. A Manfredi filly, made 275 guineas. A chestnut, colt by Gay Shield was bought by Mr. J, Lowe, a New Zealander, for 75 guineas. A Highfield. colt, made the top price, 625 guineas. The purchaser was Mr. W. Gibbs, of Sydney. A High Force colt was purchased by Mr. A. Robertson for 475 guineas. A High Force filly was bought by Mr. Wright Stephenson, of New Zealand, for 110 guineas. A Seremond colt made 225gn.5. A Beaufils colt sold, at 200gns. The latter was bought by Mr. Telford, part-owner of Phar Lap. STRAIGHT-OUT PLACE BETTING. SYDNEY, April 9. Mr. O. S. Watkips, the President of the New. Zealand Racing Conference, is impressed with the Randwick totalizator. innovation to straight-out and place betting, which has been a great success. Mr. Watkins may propose a similar practice for the New Zealand courses.
