UNEMPLOYMENT RELIEF
JOB DECLARED “BLACK.”

WELLINGTON, March 20.
The whole of the men employed in excavation work at the Campanile site ceased work to-day at noon. The job was declared “black,” and this has been reported to the Alliance of Labour and the Traders’ Labour Council. Relief workers are appealed to not to go near the job. The reason for the strike is that, as the work; is being done under the Unemployment Board’s No 5 scheme, it is contended that this is an open and flagrant breach of the General Labourers’Award;
