SHIPPING NOTES.
The Kaimai sailed yesterday with, coal for Wellington.
The ‘ Kanna sailed yesterday for Westport, New Plymouth and Auckland with coal.
The Kalingo is due about Wednesday to load timber for Sydney and Brisbane.
The Kiwitea is due to-morrow from Auckland, to load coal for New Plymouth, Miramar, Wellington and Auckland.
The Kaitoa due about Wednesday th load timber for Motueka. The Titoki leaves Wellington, on Tuesday for Nelson, Westport and Greymouth to load coal for Onakaka and Tarakohe.
The Rata arrived from Wellington last niglit and loads coal for Onakaka and Wanganui. She will sail to-night.
NEW FERRY STEAMER.
/The Union Steam Ship Company’s new Wellington-Lyttelton ferry steamer Rangitira, at present under construction by Vickers, Armstrong, Ltd., at Barrow-in-Furness, is expected to arrive in New Zealand waters about November. The new steamer■' will- be about 1000 tons larger than the Wahine, and will be approximately 5500 tons gross. The Ruahine, which leaves Wellington on Saturday for London, is reported to be taking a number of engineers and other members of the Union Company’s staff to watch the Rangitira’s construction and assist in bringing the ship out to New Zealand. It is understood that the I second engineer of the Aoi-angi is proceeding Home to come out as chief engineer of the vessel.
