FRENCH MINISTRY

RESIGNATION FOLLOWS DEFEAT. [by CABLE —PRESS ASSN. —COPYBIGHT.] (Received January 24 at 8 a.m.) PARIS, January 22. The Government was defeated in Chamber of Deputies, following criticism of M. Borefs wheat price plan, and has decided to resign. M. Boret, on January 16, announced an increase on tariff on imported wheat, sending the price from 14/- to 14/7 per cwt. No surprise is felt at the fate of the Cabinet. It has been realised since the Chamber assembled, that the first controversial question was certain to bring the fall of the Government.
