“BREAK-UP” AND AWARDS. [OUB OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HOKITIKA, December 13. The “break-up” of the’ Secondary Department for the Christmjs vacation took place at the Hokitika District High School yesterday, when the prize-giving also took place. Among those present were the Chairman of the School Committee (Mr A. C. Armstrong), Mrs J. Wilson, and Rev. W. H. Knights, vicar of All Saints. The Chairman, Vicar and Rector (Mi Menzies) addressed the children, and Mrs Wilson presented the prizes, the recipients being: — Form IV: General —Robert Wilson I, Joan Baker, Sidney Blank 2, Jean Barrowman, Douglas Spence 4. Special French prize for diligence Edna Baker. Commercial—Edna Thiele 1, Ida Pascoe 2. Special for diligence— Colin Haussmann. Form V: General: Jessie Gunn 1, James Dorreen 2, Marjorie McCarthy 3, Terence Dew 4. Commercial—Joyce Parkhill 1, Eva Randall 2, Mary McMullan 3. Specials: Progress—Maurice Moore, Jack Denia.
