MAN INJURED

HIT BY IRON BAR. [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] AUCKLAND, December 1. Following an altercation at a house in Onehunga to-night. Charles Royal Porter, single, aged 30, was admitted to the Auckland Hospital, suffering from severe injuries to the head. His condition is fairly serious. It is alleged by the police that the injured man was struck on the head with a bar of iron.

POLICE COURT SEQUEL. AUCKLAND, December 2. As the sequel to an altercation last night, Frederick William Hardwick was charged at -Onehunga with assaulting Charles Royal Porter, so as to cause bodily harm. The police said it was alleged that Hardwick struck Porter with an iron bar. There had been domestic discord. Porter might be a long time in hospital. Accused was remanded on bail.
