MASTERTON STORE DESTROYED
MASTERTON, November 24
A spectacular fire occurred in Masterton to-night when a large twostorey building, standing behind the shop of Scouller and Coy’s, furniture warehouse in Queen Street, and used by the firm for storage and packing purposes, was discovered to be a seething mass of flames. The discov ery was made by brigadesmen from' the Fire Station, which is adjacent. The whole of the interior of the building was a roaring inferno when the brigade tackled the outbreak, but within half an hour it was under control. The brigade prevented the flames from spreading into an adjoining building on the south side, partly occupied by T. Wagg, garage proprietor, and W. G. Perry, gramophone dealer.
