UNEMPLOYMENT BOARD

THE FIRST MEETING. [PEB PBESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON, November 24. The first meeting of the Unemployment Board will be held to-morrow. The Minister will preside, but owing to his many other duties it will not be possible for him to be present at all the subseuent meetings, and his place in the chair will be taken by Mr Burdekin. It is not intended to set up an elaborate organisation, and the co-opera-tion of the various Government departments will probably enable the Board to function satisfactorily without involving heavy expenditure. It is expected, however, that it will be necessary to appoint one or more executive officers.
