GARDEN’S BUMPY PASSAGE. t I [BY CABLE —PRESB ASSN. —COPYRIGHT.] f SYDNEY, November 13. S Garden arrived at Mascot this afternoon from Melbourne, after a very bumpy passage. He stopped at Canberra en route. The airman had a 1 narrow escape from injury. On his 1 ’plane coming to a standstill after 1 landing, a heavy gust of wind struck j it at an angle. The machine tipped 1 over on the wing, and it balanced on i the wing for a few seconds. Thon the 1 plane fell back on its wheels undamaged. During his journey, Garden < sometimes fell or shot upwards hun- 1 dreds of feet, this being due to air pockets. I FRENCHMEN’S JOURNEY. ( ARRIVAL AT SAIGON. CALCUTTA, Noovember 13. ; The French airmen, Goulette and Calouette, arrived at Saigon at noon on Thursday. ANGLO-AUSTRALIAN ROUTE. SINGAPORE, November 13. Air-Marshal Salmond, who has arrived here after an inspection of the aerodromes between Calcutta and Singapore, said that he had no idea when England and Australia would be linked up by a working air route. It was for the Australian Government to develop a route between Singapore and Australia. DORNIER D-OX. LONDON, November 13. The Dornier D-Ox leaves to-morrow for Bordeaux, carrying twelve passengers, including the Master of Semphill.
