SUN-BATHERS
ORDER TO QUIT
LONDON, October 3.
Attemps by sun bathers to introduce the back to nature cult on the shores of the Welsh Harp, at Hendon, were quickly ended when a deputation from Willesden Council, accompanied by police &nd other officials, visited the encampment of the “Sunray and New Life” Society and delivered an ultimatum to members to clear out within an hour.
Notice was served on a mahogany coloured man wearing next to nothing, and on an almost naked woman. Tho latter was found in Sunray Villa, which consisted of two sheets of corrugater iron and three boards.
The captain of the sun bathers, a man named Vincent, accepted notice of eviction, and instructed the members of tho society to move to adjacent land on tao Grand Union Canal. .An official of the canal then requested the police to eject the trespassers, and the sun bathers next moved to Hendon recreation ground. The park keeper promptly hurried off to the council to seek instructions before taking action against tho sun worshippers. Despite tho uproar ‘ that, has been created, tho members of the popular cult aro determined to carry on.
