Smith declares that he was not approached, and does not know why. Mr Camkin. the organiser, declares that Smith declined to play, and adds that he is willing to release Lindrum or Davis to play Smith during the second half of the season, but he must stake £lOOO for both. Regarding matches with Burroughs and Watts, under which Smith contracted, they have made a statement that they will consider releasing Smith temporarily from the contract if he desires to play. To this Mr Camkin replies: “It is now up to Smith.” LONDON, October 2. The latest scores are: —Davis 12,633, including breaks of 200, 464, 262, 217. The Dobson and Taylorville Blackmun Cup game arranged for Satur day has been cancelled and the Heslin Cup final game between Dobson and Cobden will take place at Dunollie on Saturday.
