PERSONAL NOTES

The Rev. Father Gordon Daly, of Christchurch, is expected to arrive on a visit to Greymouth, next week.

Miss B. Shinkwin, of Chapel Street, who has been an inmate of the Grey Hospital, returned home to-day.

Miss F. Martin has arrived from Westport, to join the nursing staff at the Grey Hospital.

A Sydney cable message announced the death of Mr A. Henry Fullwood a prominent artist, at the age of 6 years.

Dr G. E. Anson, who has been Chief Medical Officer in New Zealand for the A.M.P. Society since 1894, has retired from the position. The directois and members of the staff presented, him with a chiming wall clock and a table lamp.

Lady Jellicoe intends to re-visit the Dominion this summer, according to advice received in Auckland. She intends to stay in Auckland about a month. It is expected that with a party of friends she will arrive by the Rangitiki on December 24.

Aboard the Maunganui, which sailed from Sydney yesterday,, for Wellington, the departing GovernorGeneral of Australia, Lord Stonehaven, is a passenger. There were, animated sc.enes at the wharf, and an aerial escort of five Air Force machines followed the vessel down the harbour. The wrestlers. Billy Edwards and Joo Steelier, and the New Zealand boxer, Artie Hay, are among the passengers.

Mr J. Cody, of the Greymouth Post Office, will leave for Wellington on Monday, to attend the conference of the Post and Telegraph officers. Mr S. Hayden, telegraphist in the Greymouth Post Office, returns from annual leave on Monday.. Mr W. E. Evans, of the Post Office clerical staff, leaves Oreymouth for Christchurch on Monday, on annual leave.
