WOOL PURCHASE.

LONDON, October 1. Mr Whitaker, President of the British Wool Federation, interviewed, said that the suggestion for the bulk purchase of wool was more political than practical. The difficulties of adopting such a scheme on sound lines appeared to increase as it was more closely examined. The first stumbling block is the price factor. Iho British Government would not take any step without consulting the consuming interests, and as approaches have not been made, it appears that the subject is not regarded as a serious proposition.
