Ltd., the trustees in the, estate of the late Robert Hay, have forwarded a cheque for £2,000 to the Dunedin branch of the Plunket Society, which sum was bequeathed under the will of the late Mr Hay to the endowment fund of the Karitane Harris Hospital, in memory of his daughter. Pleading guilty to two charges of obtaining sums totalling £l5 10/- by means of valueless cheques, Maxwell Sullivan, 23, was admitted to probation for two years, and ordered to make restitution, by Mr Harper, S.M. this morning, suppression of the name was refused, in view of the tact that accused had a previous conviction.
