The “Daily Mail” states that if tho present experiments are successful, the giant Cunard liner which is being buii’t, will consist of three sections, each of which can move inde* 1 endentiy, in order that, in rough weather. Hie bows and the stern cun rise on the. crest of the rollers while the midships sags into the trough of the waves thus minimising the danger of the liner breaking her back in heavy seas.

The paper states that provision will be made for the carrying of quickfiring guns. The hull is being built on the lines of a warship, with watertight compartments, as a protection against the effects of gun attacks.
